DENMARKThe country has 405 islands and the peninsula of Jutland. Located in Scandinavia, Denmark offers a green, rural, flat landscape. The inhabitants speak Danish, German and English.
The capital city, Copenhagen, has beautiful Renaissance buildings, like the Rosenborg Slot; the Borsen, the stock market; the cosmopolitan shopping area of Stroget; and the picturesque harbour. Most sights are within walking distance: the Tivoli gardens, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, the Christiansborg Palace, the famous Mermaid, the Kastellet, the Frihedsmusset surrounded by parks, the art museum Statens Museum for Kunst and the original enclave of Christiania.
In Roskilde, the museum Vikingeskibsmusset displays five reconstructed Viking boats. Fynn is the home town of Hans Christian Andersen. Aarhus, in the north of Jutland, has a historical centre hosting the Den Gamle By, an open air museum with 60 wooden houses and a mill. The city of Aalborg, main producer of moonshine, extends on both sides of Limfjord, in Jutland. Aalborg offers the visitor a lot of interesting sights: the castle dungeons, the Gothic cathedral, and, on the hill, 600 graves from the Iron Age and the Viking Age. Legoland, a theme park with Lego sculptures, can also be visited in Jutland.
Denmark offers wonderful landscapes, a good transportation system and a lot of Viking museums.
