GERMANYGermany has a large number of industrial cities as well as extremely beautiful rural landscapes, such as the famous Black Forest, the Rhine valley, and the Alps. The country shares borders with Denmark, Poland, The Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
In its capital city, Berlin, you can find the Brandenburg Gate, symbol of the city; the famous street Unter den Linden, with its countless prestigious buildings; Potsdamer Platz; the new culture centre Kulturforum; the Tiergarten, biggest park in the city; the protestant cathedral Berliner Dom; and Sanssouci Park.
Eastern Germany, after more than 40 years of communist regime, attracts nowadays more tourist to the cities of Dresden and Leipzig.
Munich, capital city of Bavaria, has historical monuments, famous museums and hosts the Oktoberfest, the famous beer festival. In Bayreuth, home town of Richard Wagner, you can find the great artist's museum. Wurzburg is an important cultural centre and the city where the excellent wine of Franconia is produced. Nuremberg is also home town of many artists and craftsmen.
The Rhine and Moselle valleys have rocky cliffs on tip of which you can find wonderful castles and picturesque villages surrounded by vineyards.
Bonn is Beethoven’s home town, and the Gothic cathedral in Cologne is also worth mentioning.
In the north, Hamburg, Bremen, Hannover and the medieval city of Munster with its restored monuments and its famous astronomic clock are a must.
Germany has imposing castles and a very important historical and cultural heritage.
